This position is located in a National Forest. The position is established to serve as a training position for a member of an engineering crew.

Cuts brush and small trees to clear line of sight. Holds rods or chains at designated points and records data.
Travel Required
Occasional travel - Position may involve work away the official duty location to remote worksites within commuting distance (49 miles) and may also require overnight travel and/or camping per work assignment.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND FINGERPRINT CHECK: Selection and retention in this position is contingent on a successfully adjudicated FBI National Criminal History Check (fingerprint check) and a background investigation.

E-Verify: Federal law requires agencies to use the E-Verify system to confirm the employment eligibility of all new hires. GS-02: Three months of general experience. General experience is defined as (l) Any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation. Examples of work experience may include: observing any kind of tests and data recorded; stocked, assembled, or arranged engineering, medical or survey instruments or equipment; performed simple arithmetic computations in specialized field such as engineering, accounting, scientific, or statistical; or other work experience, paid or unpaid, that demonstrates an ability to learn and perform the work of this position. -OR
Education: Successful completion of High School or an equivalent. -OR
A Combination of education and experience listed above.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
